The Fox Well In Haw Park Wood

First posted at Waterton’s Walton.

The following is a short video about the Fox Well in Haw Park Wood, near Walton, Wakefield – close to the world’s first nature reserve establish by naturalist and explorer Charles Waterton. I referred to this site in my previous post about the Rag Well.

Transcript:

This is a short video about the Fox Well, a spring in Haw Park Wood.

To get there start at Cold Hiendley Reservoir.

Cross the bridge over the outflow and head towards to green Haw Park Wood sign.

Turn right and follow the path up the hill until you reach a wooden railing on right hand side. From here you can see the spring.

The amount of water that you can see flowing from the aquifer will depend on the time of year and whether there’s recently been rainfall.

I’ll now leave you to enjoy the sound of the water trickling out of the spring.
