Chaplin’s Irish Bar in Sorrento: An outline of Sorrento’s Irish bar with and Italian twist and one of the best bars you will find anywhere.

From my new blog ‘Sorrento With Bells On

Chaplin’s Irish Bar is likely to be one of the best bars that you are likely to come across anywhere. It is located towards the western end of Sorrento’s main street, Corso Italia just down from the red coloured cathedral bell tower and immediately opposite Parco Di Villa Fiorentino.

The following is a Chaplin’s specific clip from my Sorrento documentary that I called ‘Guide to Sorrento‘:

The following is a YouTube video that I saw online recently and particularly liked as it gave an Irish perspective. I really enjoyed this YouTube video by Paul The Irish Painter so here it is:

Chaplin’s is quite the sports bar with multiple screens showing a range of sporting events. These include the main international events like football but also sporting events that are unique to Ireland. It is also home to the ‘Sorrento Celtic Supporters’ Club’.

The music that is played when a big sports game is not on is excellent with a blend of the best pop classics interspersed with Irish folk songs and numbers that relate to Italy or the Naples region. This of course adds to the excellent atmosphere and cosmopolitan blend. Behind the bar, Mario, a natural entertainer, acts as master of ceremonies and leads singalongs to classics like Neil Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline’ or Dean Martin’s ‘That’s Amore’.

All in all this bar is a place that you want to keep coming back to.
